Plural Nouns - Intermediate - Quiz

Can you write the correct plural English sentences?

Remember these spelling rules for making the plural of nouns in English.

  1. Most English nouns take -s to form the plural.
  2. If the noun ends in -s, -z, -ch, -o, -sh, or -z we add -es.
  3. If the noun ends in -y preceded by a consonant, change the -y to -i and add -es.
  4. If the noun ends in -f or -fe, change the -f or -fe to -v and add -es.
  5. Some nouns are irregular.

Irregular nouns include, child-children, man-men, tooth-teeth, woman-women.
